It looked like a graduation class as the tourists put on blue caps and gowns. The gowns were rain coats to protect them from the spray. The boat headed up to the base of the falls, caught the spray and then headed back to the dock. This is the so called "Punch Bowl" part of the falls visible from the Canadian side. Niagara Falls is created as water leaving the Great Lakes region tumbles over the Niagara Escarpment.

Big crowds at the observation decks on the Canadian side.

The main part of the falls was visible from the Canadian Side.  Here is a view looking across to a smaller section on the US side with the old city of Niagara Falls, NY in the background.

The boat dock and the Canadian side "punch bowl" falls in the background.  See edge of US falls on the left.

Looking down stream past the power plants and following the water as it flows toward Lake Ontario.  This photo taken as I headed north from Niagara Falls, NY. on the US side.

Dug out in a totally straight line an unusual looking canal near Niagara Falls. I don't know what it's for.  Maybe shunts water to a power house?
